These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of TOPIK Coach (the "App"), a mobile application provided by keecon Co., Ltd. ("we", "our"). By installing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. The Service
- The App is an educational practice tool for learners preparing for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). It offers per-question-type practice, wrong-answer review, and multilingual explanations free of charge.
- We are an independent developer and are not affiliated with the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) or any official TOPIK organizer. The App is not an official exam, and we do not guarantee passing results.
- The App is ad-supported and currently does not offer in-app purchases.
2. Acceptance and Changes to the Terms
- These Terms take effect when you install or use the App.
- We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. We will post any update at least 7 days before it takes effect (30 days for material changes that negatively affect users).
- Continuing to use the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App and delete your account.
3. Accounts
- The App works with an anonymous session by default — no sign-up is required.
- You may optionally link Sign in with Apple or Google to restore progress across devices.
- Users under 14 years of age may use the App only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- We may limit or terminate access without prior notice if you breach these Terms or applicable laws.
4. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- Scrape, automate, or send abnormal traffic to the App or its servers
- Decompile, reverse engineer, or redistribute the App or its content
- Access another person's account or credentials without authorization
- Exploit vulnerabilities or otherwise interfere with the service
- Use the App for commercial bulk operations or block/tamper with in-app ads
- Infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
- Use the App in violation of applicable laws or public morals
5. Service Changes and Availability
- We may update features, content, UI, and advertising policies over time. Material changes are announced in-app or via release notes.
- We may suspend the App temporarily for maintenance, incident response, or security reasons.
- We may discontinue the free service for business or technical reasons, with at least 30 days' notice in-app.
6. Intellectual Property
- Software, design, trademarks, databases, and explanation text in the App are owned by us or our licensors.
- The App may reuse TOPIK past-exam materials that NIIED has publicly released on its "학습자료실" (learning resources) section, solely for educational commentary. Original materials remain the property of their rights holders.
- You may use the App's content only for personal study. Copying, transmitting, redistributing, or selling the content without permission is prohibited.
7. Advertising
- The App displays banner and interstitial ads via Google AdMob. Data processing for advertising is governed by our Privacy Policy.
- iOS users control ad personalization via App Tracking Transparency (ATT); EEA users control it via UMP consent.
- We do not endorse or warrant the claims, products, or services in third-party advertisements.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
- The App's content does not guarantee exam scores or admission. Results depend on individual study time and methods.
- We are not liable for interruptions caused by force majeure (natural disasters, war, network outages) or actions beyond our reasonable control.
- We are not liable for damages caused by your failure to secure your account or device.
- Except as required by law, our liability is limited to direct damages arising from our willful or gross-negligent acts.
9. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time via
Settings → My Info → Delete account. - After deletion, you have a 14-day grace period to restore data by signing back in with the same social account. After this period, data is permanently erased.
- We may restrict or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
10. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- If a dispute arises, we will first attempt to resolve it in good faith through mutual discussion.
- If no resolution is reached, the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act shall have first-instance jurisdiction.
